Hannah Patterson is an East Coast based Director and DOP. Growing up a multi-sport athlete and musician, she has always been a collaborator and team player; Hannah strongly believes that the best leaders are not the ones who get their team across the finish line but the ones that make sure everyone gets across not only safely but proud of their own journey.

Hannah explores the human condition within stories; she’s influenced by the complexity of relationships and is interested in telling stories that invite the viewer not only to feel but also to reflect. Her specialties include, but aren’t limited to, slice of life, coming of age, and found family narratives- toeing the thin line between drama and comedy

Since she could remember, Hannah has always found escapism through realism in films and television; she’s noticed a thematic commonality between her projects that reflect that as well. She believes realism gives viewers a glimpse of an achievable future, something that could happen or be experienced; her aim is the progression of living to be living in a world that reflects the media the way someone imagined and hoped for it to become.

When Hannah isn’t on set, she is skateboarding, making music, catching up on her watchlist, or studying her favorite Directors: Kahlil Joseph, Park Chan-wook, Mati Diop, and Mike Flanagan; and her favorite Directors of Photography: Bradford Young, Claire Mathon, Hong Kyung-pyo, and Roger Deakins.
